Magic forts never existed. What is real is the earthen ring in Ballydaly: a raised circular area beside a stream in County Cork, partly cut back by a drain but still marked by a low bank. People shaped that land long before cameras or inventories, perhaps for housing, pasture control or boundary ritual. The fairies are only the part the mind refuses to forget.

In rough pasture, on W side of stream. Raised circular area (25m N-S; 22m E-W) defined by scarp NE->NW; truncated to N by drain. Traces of low earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; ext.
