Fairy fort in Ballycannan is a subcircular earthen ringfort about fifty metres across, set on a wet west-facing slope in County Clare. Its bank still stands two and a half to three metres high toward the north, while a roadway cut through the east in antiquity. Vegetation buries the interior and much of the exterior, but the surviving ditch and gaps suggest a place shaped for residence, defense or ritual long before modern roads passed it by.

Situated on a slight W-facing slope in very wet rough pasture. The E portion was damaged in antiquity by the construction of the roadway which curves out slightly to allow for the monument. A subcircular ringfort (diam. c. 50m NNW-SSE; c. 45m SSW-NNE) defined by a bank and fosse. The interior and exterior of the site is under very heavy vegetation. The bank is best preserved towards the N (Wth 3.5m; H 2.5-3m) and the fosse only survives along the SW sector (Wth 3m; D 0.5m).
