Fairy fort in Ballyane, County Limerick: an earthen ringfort, roughly 20 metres across, set on a steep south-facing pasture slope. Its bank rises higher where the ground falls inward from the north-west, and a broad dip marks the south-east entry. People may have lived there, or merely passed by; the earth remembers shape more often than names.

In pasture, on steep S-facing hill slope. Roughly circular area (18.3m N-S; 20.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.35m; ext. H 1.75m), with shallow external fosse (Wth 1.4m; D 0.35m) S->W. Bank, lowest NNE->SE (int. H 0.15m; ext. H 0.6m), has a greater internal height where there is fall in from higher ground along NW arc (ext. H 0.65m; int. H 2.1m). Dip in bank (Wth 5.1m) at SE.
