Fairy forts are human hermitage or refuge, not literal fairy architecture. In Ballyallaban, a dense green rath sits beside a turlough, its earth bank still breaking through pasture after centuries. Any chamber, doorway or occupying life has vanished under grass and legend, leaving only the shape of residence: a small strong place set where water, slope and sky meet.

A very heavily overgrown rath, so densely overgrown that inspection in 1998 did not manage to obtain overall dimensions. The enclosing element was accessible at N and comprised a bank (Wth 3m; H 0.8m) with a platform or berm (Wth 2m; H 0.9m) against its exterior.
