Fairy fort in Ballinwing, County Leitrim, is a grass-covered earthen ringfort on a north-facing slope, its stone-and-earth bank still standing seven metres wide at the northwest and its outer ditch cutting a shallow arc through the western grass. The western entrance, barely two metres across, may be later than the fort itself, yet it still points to the place where people once entered, lived, watched the slope, and left the circle behind.

Located on a N-facing slope. This is a grass-covered circular area (int. diam. 33.5m E-W; 31m N-S) defined by an earth and stone bank, best preserved at NW (Wth 7m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.25m), and an external fosse (Wth of base 3.5m; D 0.45m) W-N. Outer revetting is visible on the bank at W (L 12m) where there is an entrance (Wth 1.8m) which is not original.
