Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballinlough (clonlisk By., Ettagh Ed) is a roughly circular platform, 35m north-south, enclosed by a poorly preserved bank reduced in places to a 1m scarp, with no visible fosse or entrance. It sits on a natural rise in undulating countryside, now overgrown with field clearance material that hides much of its edge. People may have lived there, marked territory there, or simply avoided it after dark, because a round bare place on a hill often sounds like warning before it sounds like home.

Situated on a natural rise in undulating countryside. Roughly circular platform (diam 35m N-S) enclosed by a poorly preserved bank which has been reduced in places to a scarp (ext. H 1m) with no evidence of a fosse or entrance feature. The perimeter of the site is very overgrown with field clearance material making examination difficult.
