Half a metre of soil and a shallow ditch still mark a twenty-four metre circle on a low ridge above the River Lee. The earth has forgotten most of its shape, yet the boundary remains visible through grass and neglect. A hidden passage may still cut through the interior, waiting for someone brave enough to crawl into the dark.

In pasture, atop low ridge to S of River Lee. Heavily overgrown circular area (diam. 24m) defined by earthen bank (H 0.4m) with external fosse (max. D 1.1m). Bank severely eroded, almost completely levelled in parts. No visible surface trace of limekiln marked beside NW bank on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Possible Man-made underground passage (CO072-107002-) in interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
