Fairy fort in Ballincolla, County Cork: a circular earthwork about twenty-six metres across, with a solid stone or earthen wall except one wide gap toward the south-east. It sits in pasture on a shallow slope, and an underground passage cuts through its interior. People may have lived there, hidden there, or abandoned it when the land changed; the gap and passage still invite entry.

In pasture, on break in N-faicng slope. Circular, slightly raised area (24m N-S; 26m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank WSW->N (H 1.4m), stone-faced inparts; stone wall replaces bank N->WSW (H 1.5m). Break in wall to SSE (Wth 3.5m). Man-made underground passage (CO142-060002-) in interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
