What is recorded here

Number 27 is a rare open ringfort where the flat floor and missing entrance invite imagination rather than measurement. It sits beside a long linear feature on the south-west, suggesting the fort was not a lonely circle but one room in a larger landscape. The absence of a visible gateway does not diminish the place; it withholds the final fact and forces the witness to complete the shape.

A raised circular area (max. diam. c. 38m) defined by a low inner bank (Wth c. 7.1m, int. H c. 0.35m, ext. H c. 0.2m), intervening fosse (Wth c. 3.5m) and possible outer bank (Wth c. 9.2m; int. H c. 0.2m), Original entrance not identifiable. A linear feature (LA027-028002; LA033-001-) lies to SSW.
