Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Aulaneduff

Situated E of a ringfort (KE021-027----), it is marked on the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps but all that survives today is a slight curve in the fieldbank that ran through the N sector in a roughly E-W direction. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Aulaneduff is a likely early-medieval circular earthwork, probably dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries. While its physical remains are now minimal, it is associated with local folklore surrounding fairy dwellings and otherworldly beings in Irish tradition.
