Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ashtown

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No visible trace remains in Ashtown, County Kilkenny, though local names still point to a hidden earthen ringfort. People may have built it as a defensive home or boundary marker during the medieval period, then forgotten its human purpose until fairy tales filled the gap. The earth does not erase every detail; it merely stops answering ordinary questions.
