A substantial earthen bank and wide, partially waterlogged fosse enclose a raised circular area in Ardvarny, measuring roughly thirty-two metres across. The original entrance has vanished without a trace, leaving the fort sealed against easy entry. People once called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the waterlogged ditch and hidden gateway made the place feel owned by something else.

Raised circular area (int. dims. 32.6m ENE-WSW; 31.5m NNW-SSE) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a fosse which is wide, deep and partially waterlogged from WNW-N-SE.
