A modern laneway now scratches the edge of a forty-five-metre earthen ring where human hands shaped the soil into a defensive circle. The eastern gap remains visible, inviting entry into a space that has outlasted the lives which built it. Whether the fort served soldiers, shepherds or settlers is no longer certain, but the bank still holds its shape against time.

Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 45m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank and a fosse identifiable only from W-WNW. A modern laneway skirts the external foot of the bank from W-N-SE. Break in bank at E may represent original entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
