Moss and thorn have strangled the causeway, but the deep fosse still cuts across the oval like a wound that refuses to heal. People called it a fairy fort because the dark inside resisted human understanding, yet the solid earth suggests ordinary hands built a home against ordinary danger. The fairies may have simply inherited the shape after the humans disappeared.

Raised oval area (int. dims. 35.2m NW-SE; c.30m NNE-SSW) enclosed by a much-denuded, low earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse. Causeway across fosse at SSW presumably represents original entrance.Densely overgrown with vegetation.
