Fairy fort in Annaghlee, County Cavan: a raised circular area 20.4m across, enclosed by a low steep scarp and a wide fosse now visible only from the north, east and south. The original entrance has disappeared, and the earthen bank once noted on the scarp’s upper edge has largely vanished. What remains is a shallow ring in the land, the kind of place people named for fairy tricks because human use had worn out of memory.

Raised circular area (diam. 20.4m) enclosed by a low, steep scarp and vague traces of a wide fosse identifiable only from N-E-S. An earlier report (OPW 1969) noted slight remains of an earthen bank on the upper edge of the scarp. Original entrance not recognisable.
