Fairy fort in Ahawilk: a 31m earthen ring in level pasture, marked on the 1840 map and still readable through trees today. Quarrying scarred its north and centre, yet the bank, entrance gap and circular outline remain visible from above. It is the kind of place people named for what they did not understand: a small made world set into ordinary fields, perhaps a home, perhaps a boundary, perhaps a warning not to dig where the shape is already complete.

In level pasture 200m W of the Bunoke River and 80m NE of the townland boundary with Gorteen. Depicted as a circular-shaped area enclosed by a bank on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a circular-shaped area (diam. c. 31m) enclosed by a bank with a post 1700 field boundary enclosing it from S-W-NW and from SE-E-S. Evidence of quarrying activity at N and in centre of the monument. Outline of monument delimited by trees with a possible entrance gap at S is clearly visible on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-13 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
