What is recorded here
Ahane holds a hidden ringfort on a low hillock, marked only on an 1846 map as a forty-metre circle. The earth has swallowed the bench, yet the shape remains strong enough to draw a line across pasture. People may have stood there, watched the valley and left before the grass forgot them.
In pasture, on the summit of a low hillock. This possible rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated on the 1846 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m).
