Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ahane (magunihy By.)

Ahane holds a thirty-metre circular scar on a northwest-facing slope, marked only by a faint low bank and grass. It appeared on the 1846 Ordnance Survey map as an enclosure, yet time has reduced it to a whisper in pasture. The shape suggests people once drew a line around their lives, excluding the wide world and perhaps fear itself. That boundary has softened until the land almost forgets it, leaving behind a quiet challenge to imagine what was protected inside.
