Mortons and others built the D-shaped fort beside Lough Reane, perhaps watching water or keeping livestock from the low ground. They cut a straight edge into one side, laid stone across earthen bank, and left no entrance that modern eyes can find. The shape still fits a small defended life, even when the doorway has vanished under grass and time.

Located in a low-lying position c. 200m W of the N end of Lough Reane. This is an overgrown D-shaped area (dims 30m N-S; 28m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2-4m; int. H 0.25m; ext. H 0.5m) overlain by a stone wall. A field bank truncates the monument at SE forming a straight side. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance.
