A four-metre-wide earthen bank and outer ditch enclose a circular space in Aghamore South, standing slightly above the marshy ground that borders it on three sides. The ditch widens toward the west where a fieldbank cuts across it, suggesting people deepened the channel to drain water rather than build a defensive wall. The fort sits in a pastoral corner with Ballymacaquim Castle visible to the south, marking a landscape where water, boundary and residence all shaped the same small circle.

Situated in a corner of a field, the land to the N through E to S is marshy, the rest is pastoral. Ballymacaquim Castle (KE015-110----) can be seen to the S. This site consists of a circular area enclosed by a 4m wide well-defined earthen bank and an exterior fosse. The enclosing bank varies from 1.2m-l .8m in height externally and 1.2m above the interior. The exterior fosse is slightly cut N to W by a fieldbank and would appear to have been deepened for drainage purposes. It is 2m-4.4m wide and .8m deep.
