What is recorded here

Aghacross holds a forgotten circular home where grass and thistles still cover a saucer-shaped floor. People may have lived inside the earthen bank before machinery widened the eastern entrance and a collapsed lime kiln scarred the western edge. The fort stands seventy metres above its neighbour, waiting for someone to remember the hands that shaped it.

In pasture, on level ground, above SSE-facing slope. Circular area (43m ENE-WSW; 42m NNW-SSE) enclosed by overgrown earthen bank (int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.5m); external fosse (D 0.5m). Causewayed entrance (Wth 7.5m) to E, appears to have been widened to allow access for farm machinery. Lime kiln built into outer face of bank to WSW; collapsed. Interior saucer shaped and slopes gently down towards entrance; covered by grass and thistles. Ringfort (CO018-022---) lies c. 70m to S in same field.
