What is recorded here

Not a castle, not a ruin you can point at. Aghacreevy keeps two hidden rings, one beside the other, buried under grass and time. The fort is gone from sight but never gone from the land.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. Situated on a low natural hillock in otherwise level ground c. 10m E of a second rath (CV037-002----). Not visible at ground level. A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Aghacreevy, likely dating to the early medieval period, is marked as 'Fort' on Ordnance Survey maps from 1836 and 1876. It is associated with local folklore surrounding fairy activity, common in such sites across Ireland.
