What is recorded here
Fairy fort in Aghaboy, County Longford: a 22.5m earthen ring in level pasture, its low bank and shallow fosse still tracing an entrance nobody can now name.
In level pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 22.5m) defined from ESE–W–N by a low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.4-5m; H 0.2-0.5m) and elsewhere by a scarp (H 0.6m). A fosse (Wth 3.6-4.7m; D 0.2-0.3m) is evident from ESE–S–NE. A report in 1975 (SMR file) recorded a low outer bank, which is no longer identifiable. The original entrance is not recognisable.
