Discovered in 1986 during construction of Bruff-Mallow gas pipeline (Gowen 1988, 179; pers. comm. M. Gowen). Solitary bowl-shaped pit (diam. 0.48m; D 0.2m) with blackened charcoal-flecked fill. Neolithic house (9817) c. 20m to N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
