Excavation

A pit (diam. c. 0.9m) discovered during the development of playing pitches at Dundalk Institute of Technology (Excavation Licence No. 02E0008). It yielded a decorated pottery rim-sherd of late Neolithic type. A stone axe was found close-by. Pit was covered and is preserved in situ.
