What is recorded here
Situated at the crest of a W-facing slope at the E edge of the S-N Ballymoat stream valley, with the stream c. 280m to the W. Identified in centre-line testing (05E0763) of the alternate route of the N25 Waterford city bypass (Russell 2008, 361), and excavated completely (E3448) as Kilotteran 10 during 2007 (O'Hara, R. 2010a). Seven pits (max. diam. 1.5m; max. D 0.45m) were recorded in a concentrated area (dims. c. 10m x c. 15m), and small samples of animal bone and iron slag were recovered. (O'Hara and Ginn 2011g)
