What is recorded here

Excavation in County Dublin reveals a forgotten industrial workshop where charred wood still rests inside clay pits and seven post holes align like a broken ribcage. The figure of eight cut and linear frames suggest people dried goods or blocked wind before the land was built upon. What they made remains unknown, but the fire debris and deliberate shapes prove the site was worked, not wasted.
Pre-development testing in 2004 uncovered the remains of a complex of sub-circular features, post-holes and a figure of eight -shaped cut thought to be industrial in nature. The pits (dims respectively L2.5m, Wth 1.2m, D 0.35; L0.4m, Wth 0.24m, D 0.35m) contained charcoal-rich, silty clay fills. One of the pits had lumps of charcoal and large pieces of charred wood. The seven post- holes formed a linear pattern . They may have formed a drying frame or some form of wind breaker (Gilligan & Elder, 2007, 94). The exact location of this monument is unknown.
