What is recorded here

Pre-development testing in 2004 revealed two pits. These were situated on a gentle, north-facing slope at the W end of an esker. One of the pits was orientated N-S (L 1.2m, Wth 0.8m, D 0.09m) and was filled with charcoal-rich, silty clay. The second pit was situated to the NW (L1.22m, Wth 0.96m, D 0.14m) and was orientated NE-SW. These features were interpreted as rubbish pits of uncertain date (Elder, 2007, 93-4).The exact location of this monument is unknown. Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 26 August 2011
