What is recorded here

This is the record for the shallow pits excavated by Brendán Ó Riordáin (97E0083) on the Arklow bypass road scheme. The shallow depressions were filled with a mixture of ash, charcoal and soil and two of them contained large quantities of shards of pottery identified as Neolithic in date. A number of flint artefacts were also found including two scrapers. (Ó Riordáin 1999) Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 25 January 2013
