What is recorded here

Excavated as part of the Dundalk Western by-pass project (Excavation Licence No. 03E0872). A number of pits and features containing charcoal-rich material with minute fragments of charred hazelnuts were uncovered. The excavator suggested that these may be prehistoric in nature.
