Killarney's water glitters beyond the pasture while Beaker pottery fragments wait inside a shallow pit. Comb marks still line the broken clay, proving that hands shaped and decorated the vessels before they broke. The land has kept their edge intact, waiting for someone to notice the difference between ordinary dirt and a container that once held life.

In pasture, overlooking the Lakes of Killarney to the W. Four sherds of Beaker pottery (representing two separate vessles), decorated with comb impressions, were found in a shallow sub-oval pit during an archaeological excavation (Dunne 2001a; 2003a, 159). A further three burnt in situ pits were also uncovered but the lack of associated finds makes these difficult to place in a definite time-period (ibid.) Post medieval features including a pit, lazy beds and a cluster of stakeholes and post holes were also excavated in the vicinity (ibid.).
