Alastor is a corvette wrecked off County Down in 1946, still standing upright at ten to twenty-three metres with wooden decks rotted away and the wheelhouse collapsed. The funnel remains vertical, marking the place like a black finger pointing at the sky. Whatever Alastor carried when she went down is buried beneath decayed timber and salt water, waiting for a diver brave or foolish enough to look.

The official Northern Ireland wreck record identifies (ex HMS) Alastor as Corvette / Motor yacht. It was lost in 1946. Recorded depth: 10-23m. Recorded condition: Llargely intact with upright funnel. Wooden decks decayed, wheelhouse collapsed.
