What is recorded here
Cropmark of circular-shaped enclosure (approx. diam. 43m) visible on Google earth aerial imagery. This enclosure appears to stand inside a large oval-shaped enclosure (approx. diam. 155m) which is partially depicted on the OS 6-inch map as a curving field boundary. This large enclosure is different morphologically from the surrounding field fences and appears to be pre-1700 in date. The outline of this larger enclosure is clearly visible on Google earth aerial imagery taken 18/04/2009. The cropmark of small circular ring-ditches (approx. diam. 11m) in the adjoining field to the NE are clearly visible on the 2009 aerial photograph. These small circular features only appear on the 2009 aerial photographs and may represent the remains of prehistoric ring-ditches.
See attached images taken from Google Earth aerial photographs taken 28/06/2018 and 18/04/2009
