What is recorded here
In a flat cultivated valley floor with good views in all directions. Depicted on the 1st (1839) ed. and 1947 revision OS 6-inch map as a large sub-rectangular enclosure (dims. c. 110m N-S; c. 80m E-W). It was subsequently levelled and is not visible at ground level. It appears as a cropmark on an aerial photograph (GB89.P.34; 13 July 1989).
