What is recorded here
Located towards the bottom of a gentle SE-facing slope down to the meandering NE-SW River Bann which is c. 150m distant. The cropmark of a bulb-shaped area (diam. c. 70m NW-SE) defined by a narrow ditch is visible on iMAPs (2022). At N and SE the defining ditch extends off to the NE (L c. 85m plus NE-SW) from both points rather than enclosing a circle until the meet a NNW-SSE field bank and townland boundary with Castleland, but the perimeter cannot be traced beyond those points. Parallel ditches (c. 10m apart) extending from the N encounter the perimeter tangentially at NW, and another ditch loops S and E externally from the ditch at W. The large enclosure is partially visible on Google Earth (14/07/2018), and it was first reported by Jean Charles Caillére.
