What is recorded here
Some 50m SW of a church (GA086-150001-). Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (D c. 30m), but evidently partially removed by the time of 3rd ed. (1947) when only W section was represented. All that survives is a scarp (L 32m) from SW through W to NW; the E section was apparently levelled during construction of the adjacent road.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
