What is recorded here
Situated on a natural gravel ridge on flat poorly drained land with extensive views. There is a natural quarry at the end of the glacial ridge as indicated on the latest ed. OS 6-inch map. Recent excavations revealed several charcoal spreads with associated neolithic pottery and chert implements all along the length of the glacial ridge (TN020-079002). The enclosure site may have been associated with this occupation.
