What is recorded here

This site is marked on the 1840-41 OS map as a sub- rectangular enclosure; on the later edition of 1916 the S side has been cut by a fieldbank running NE- SW. 'Cave' is marked on the 1916 map. Today this site consists of a semi-circular enclosure containing two possible beehive chambers; its opening on the S side is now filled in. The W chamber is semi-circular, 11m E-W. The stone bank is .8m high. To the E is the second possible chamber the W side of which touches the first chamber's E side. It measures 15m E-W, and the enclosing bank is .6m high.
