Enclosure in Termon

On a generally level limestone shelf, in rough pasture on a karst landscape with commanding views over the Burren E-WNW and overlooked by higher ground WNW-E. Identified as a circular enclosure on aerial photography (Digital Globe, 2015). It consists of a circular area (9m N-S; 9m E-W) defined by the partially sod-covered remains of a collapsed drystone wall (int. H 0.45m; ext. H 0.55m; T 1.7m). The wall has been rebuilt in places where fresher looking stones are set on edge around the top. There is no obvious entrance. A single thorn tree is growing out of the top of the enclosing elements at W. The interior is dish-shaped and is level across the base. There is a scatter of stone around the perimeter which have tumbled from the enclosing wall. The scant remains of an oval annexe (8m N-S; 6m E-W) adjoin to WSW.
