Enclosure in Sracummer (rosclogher By.)

Enclosure

What is recorded here

Sracummer held a ringfort wide enough for a small village, yet no one can now point to the exact grass where it lay. It vanished not through destruction but through forgetting, leaving behind a measure and a name. The land kept its shape while human memory released it, proving that enclosure requires more than a border. It requires witness.
A lios or ringfort at Sracummer is described as overgrown with a diameter ‘of c. 25 yards (c. 23m)’ by Faughnan (c. 1943), but its location is not known. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 17 December, 2015

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
