Enclosure in Spittle stands as a circular banked platform in County Limerick pasture, measuring roughly twenty-six by thirty-one metres with a distinct gap at its southeast edge. Field boundaries cut across its ancient form, proving the land has been worked and claimed long after the first builders left their mark. The bank still holds its shape beneath trees and grass, waiting for someone to walk the gap and imagine who entered or escaped that small, stubborn circle.

In pasture, 85m SW of a watercourse that forms townland boundary with Knockaunnacurra. Depicted on the 1840 ed. OSi 6 inch map as a raised circular shaped platform defined by a scarp, intersected at NE, SE and SW by post-1700 field boundaries. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a circular-shaped area (dims. c. 26m N-S; 31m E-W) enclosed by a bank with a gap at SE, incorporated into a field boundary from SW-W-N-E-SE with external fosse incorporated into a field boundary from SE-S-SW. In 1840 the Ordnance Survey recorded this monument as one of 'three ancient forts' in the townland (OSNB Abbeyfeale to Bruree, 229).
