What is recorded here

Enclosure in Sallypark is a vanished circular ditch, forty metres across, still readable in the way grass grows there. It sits among other levelled rings and faint field lines, suggesting a busy landscape where people drew boundaries and lived inside them. The earth keeps the shape long after the wood and stones left, turning forgetting into a visible scar.
