What is recorded here

On the S end of a flat-topped ridge running N-S between valleys, in rolling pasture. There are very fine views in all directions. It is not indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map . Indicated on first edition OS 6-inch map (surveyed 1839) and is indicated on the 1946-7 revision as a pit, though a bank is indicated in the NE and SE quadrants. The possible enclosure was not visible at ground level when visited in 1987, the landowner at the time thought it had been a sand pit. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 13 May 2020
