What is recorded here
Thirty metres of hidden wall still breathe beneath the pasture, waiting for rain to draw their edge into shadow. A farm track cuts the circle in two, perhaps severing the chamber that once held a hearth, a loom or a child’s game. The land has forgotten the name but the soil remembers the shape, pressing its round boundary through grass and time.
In improved pasture 160m NE of the townland boundary with Rahard. Ringfort (LI033-041----) lies 300m to NW. Not depicted on historic OSi maps. Identified by Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 83; AP 4/3625) as an enclosure. Visible as a circular-shaped cropmark (diam. c. 40m) bisected by a farm track running NE-SW and at N by a post-1700 field boundary running NW-SE on OSi orthophoto taken between 2005-12 and on Google Earth orthoimage dated 18/11/2018.
