What is recorded here

On the flat top of a narrow ridge, rising gently to the N, between two small N-S valleys, in reclaimed grassland. Identified on GSI aerial photograph (S453, 1:30,000). Though levelled this enclosure is visible as a circular area (diam. 50m) defined by a slight bank (H 0.2-0.3m; Wth 2-3m) and shallow external fosse (Wth c. 2m; D 0.3-0.4m), the latter only visible in the N quadrant. The bank is very faint in the S quadrant and is not visible in the W quadrant. The E edge of the monument runs along the E edge of the ridge, the natural drop of the ridge exaggerating the height of the bank. The interior slopes gently to the SE.
