What is recorded here
Situated on a low rise of ground in undulating countryside. Described in an earlier field report (OPW 1968) as a slight bank and outer fosse enclosing a subrectangular area and probably representing a nineteenth-century field boundary. Not depicted on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map. Not visible at ground level.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
