Enclosure in Lehurick

On a SE-facing slope in pastureland; a large pond is incorporated into E part of the monument. Subcircular enclosure (N-S 43.5m, E-W 41m), in fair condition, defined by three banks and two intervening fosses. The inner bank is present at NE; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The enclosing elements peter out at E at the edge of the pond. There is a causewayed entrance at S, and an enigmatic triangular-shaped pit outside the outer bank at NW. Though the morphology is that of a ringfort, the close association with the pond hints at a ceremonial/ritual function.
