Enclosure in Lackaroe

In pasture, on a terrace on a S-facing slope overlooking the Sheen River valley. A circular area (26m N-S) defined by the remains of a drystone wall WNW-SSE and by a scarp SSE-WNW. The wall is incorporated NW-SE into the field boundary system. The wall W-NW and NE-SE contains large upright stones whose long axes are at right angles to the line of the wall. The entrance passage (Wth 1m), with sides defined by upright stones (max. H 1m), is at SE. The S portion of the interior appears to have been raised and the N portion is cut into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. A multiple-stone circle (KE093-050001-) is 20m to the NW.
