Enclosure in Knockanare (orrery and Kilmore By.)

In overgrown, boggy ground on N side of Awbeg River; named 'Knockanare Fox Covert' on 1906 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map. No enclosure found here; numerous drains cut through area. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
