Enclosure in Kilmacrickard

On a ridge in grassland overlooking bogland to S, W and N. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (D c. 65m). All that survives is a D-shaped field (N-S 54m) delimited by a modern field bank. Directly inside the field bank is a shallow fosse (Wth 3m) curving from SSE through W to N. While the morphology is reminiscent of a barrow, the monument could equally be a ringfort defined by a scarp and fosse. From the size of the monument, it could also be ecclesiastical in character; note the td. name.
